Read to Serve--LVDL's 2018 Winter Reading Program starts today!

Monday, January 15, 2018 - 12:00am
(All Ages) Read to feed the hungry this winter! For every 15 minutes you read (or are read to), the Friends of Lake Villa District Library will donate 25 cents (up to $5 per person) to the Northern Illinois Food Bank. Kids and teens also get a free book for participating! Pick up a reading log at any public service desk. Read to Serve runs January 15-February 28.

Lincoln Award Trivia & Voting

Thursday, February 22, 2018 - 5:30pm to 7:30pm
(Grades 9-12) Have you read at least four of the 2018 Lincoln Nominees? Join us for trivia, where we’ll put your reading to the test! Then vote for your favorite 2018 nominee! If you read all 20, you get a special prize. Be sure to pick up a Lincoln Nominee Bingo Board at the Youth Services desk or in the Young Adult section. Pizza and drinks will be provided ... please register.

Teen & Tween Gaming Drop-In

Tuesday, January 23, 2018 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm
(Grades 4-12) Hang out and play Wii on the big screen, or the PS4 and XBOX One in our Young Adult area. Bring your own devices to play Minecraft, your DS/3DS, or your Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh cards! Snacks will be provided ... no registration required!

Sweet Treats

Wednesday, January 17, 2018 - 5:00pm to 6:00pm
(Grades 4-8) Come learn how to make your own chocolate candies! Please note, we'll be using peanuts and dairy products during this program. Please register.

Storytime for Preschoolers

Thursday, February 22, 2018 - 10:30am to 11:00am
(Open to 3- to 5-year-olds) Come be part of the fun at Preschool Storytime! These programs feature a half hour of books, songs, fingerplays and interactive storytelling. Caregivers are invited to wait outside the Wilton Room during these “independent” storytimes.

Please note: We ask that you choose only one registered program for your child(ren)—your registration covers the full 6-week session.
