Friends of the Library

The Friends of Lake Villa District Library actively raise awareness of the library in the community and  provide financial support through their memberships and book sales. The Friends provide supplemental  funding for library equipment, programs, special events, as well as contributions to various community agencies. In 2018, a scholarship program for local high school graduates who live within the district was established. To learn more about the Friends, access their bylaws or email refdesk@lvdl.org

2023 Library Scholarship Program

The Friends of LVDL are happy to announce they will be awarding up to three $1,000 scholarships to qualifying high school seniors graduating in 2023.  Applicants must reside in Lake Villa Township and plan to pursue a two or four-year degree at any accredited vocational school, junior college or university.  Application deadline is March 31, 2023.

Book Donations

The Friends of LVDL accept donations of new or gently used books and current magazines. Kindly place donations in the bin located in the Friends Book Nook.  See library staff if you need a receipt. 

DVDs, CDs, audiobooks,VHS tapes, encyclopedias and text books are not accepted.  For large donations, we recommend Goodwill located at 2051 N. Route 83 in Round Lake Beach.
