Voter Registration Drive

LVDL is holding a day-long voter registration drive! If you are a U.S. Citizen and will be 18 years old on or before November 6, 2018, you are eligible to vote in the general election. To register to vote, you will need two acceptable forms of identification; one with a photo and at least one must list your current physical address. Also, you must have resided at that address for 30 days. For more information call 847.245.5115.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and in Lake County, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 7 men will experience rape, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner at some point in their lifetimes. Please join A Safe Place, Lake County’s provider of domestic violence services, in a discussion to help raise awareness about violence in our communities and how it is being portrayed in the Emmy award winning HBO show Big Little Lies. Help us turn the page on domestic violence.

Join staff from Zacharias Center for an information session on sexual violence; a topic that some believe has become an epidemic. In addition to providing information on available services, ZCenter staff will review Erin’s Law, terminology and offer an understanding of sexual trauma, the grooming process, false reporting and how to handle a possible disclosure of a trauma.
