Lake Villa District Library Seeks Local Artists to Enhance Facility
In an effort to enhance the new library facility and to promote the work of artists living in Lake Villa Township, Lake Villa District Library is seeking proposals from local artists.
Artists who work in a variety of media---painting on canvas and paper, textiles and photography---are invited to submit proposals for consideration. The only stipulation: they need to live in Lake Villa Township.

Beginning Monday, February 15, Lake Villa District Library will expand hours to: Monday –Thursday 9am –7pm; Friday 9am –6pm; Saturday 9am –5pm; Sunday 1 –5pm.
Visits are limited to one-hour per person, per day, and all library safety mitigations will remain in place. Public computers and Notary Service will be available.
“We are happy to be expanding hours,” said Library Director Mikael Jacobsen. “Seeing our patrons safely and in person is wonderful!”

Lake Villa District Library will reopen Monday, February 1 for limited in-person service during the following hours: Monday –Thursday 11am –7pm; Friday 11am –6pm; Saturday 11am –5pm; Sunday 1 –5pm. Visits are limited to 30-minutes per person, per day, and all library safety mitigations will remain in place. “We strive to find the best balance between prioritizing both patron and staff safety as well as service to the community,” said Library Director Mikael Jacobsen. “There is much to consider.

As part of its long range planning process, Lake Villa District Library launched a community survey on Monday, January 25. The survey’s goal is to learn how the library can better serve area residents over the next three years. “We want to learn more about our community members and discover their aspirations for the area the library serves,” said library director Mikael Jacobsen.
