Library Partnership Celebrates Audiobook Month with Award-Winning Narrator Julia Whelan

In celebration of Audiobook Month, Highland Park Public Library and Lake Villa District Library have joined forces to bring award-winning narrator Julia Whelan to their communities on Monday, June 7, at 7pm.  The program will be held virtually on Zoom and registration is required.

Narrator of over 400 audiobooks, Whelan has won numerous awards, including the 2019 Best Female Narrator for Tara Westover’s Educated.  Audiofile magazine named her one of its Golden Voices of 2020.  Recently she narrated The New York Times bestselling audiobook The Four Winds, by Kristen Hannah.

Library partnerships are nothing new, however, working together to connect readers with bestselling authors became more prevalent during the pandemic.  The virtual platform takes the guesswork out of traveling and offers the opportunity for an expanded audience at a cost-effective rate.

Among the fastest growing areas of the publishing industry, audiobooks are also a favorite of library staff. Both Highland Park Library and Lake Villa District Library cardholders can find physical and digital audiobooks for readers of all ages.  Visit www.hplibrary.org or www.lvdl.org  to start listening today.
