Lake Villa District Library to Commemorate the 20th Anniversary of 9/11

In commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of 9/11, Lake Villa District Library will host ‘September 11, 2001: The Day That Changed the World’, an educational exhibition from the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.

The 14-panel poster display includes personal stories of those who witnessed and survived the attacks as well as archival photographs and images of artifacts from the Museum’s permanent collection.  The exhibit presents the history of 9/11, its origins, ongoing implications and encourages critical thinking about the legacies of the attacks.

Self-guided tours of the exhibit are available during the library’s normal business hours throughout the month of September along with a number of family-friendly activities that address themes of courage, compassion, resilience, and hope.

Additionally, South Tower Survivor Tom Jones will share his story on Wednesday, September 15 at 7pm. Please register
