Lindenhurst, IL — Throughout July and August, visitors to Lake Villa District Library can experience the artistry of Sinéad Carus, a self-taught artist who focuses on illustration, surface pattern design, and photography. Her exhibit, Irish Roots, is meant to inspire emotion, nostalgia, and hope.
Carus’s father is a native of Chicago, and her mother is a native of Ireland. “My heritage often appears in my work,” said Carus. “I aim to take viewers on a journey and celebrate the human spirit.” An avid nature enthusiast and lover of the outdoors, her artistic inspiration often begins at sunrise or sunset along the trails and waterways near her home.
In addition to the exhibit, Carus will be at the library on Monday, July 20, 2026 at 7 pm to discuss her artistic process and where she finds inspiration. Visit www.lvdl.org or call 847.245.5115 for details.
