Lake Villa District LIbrary offers limited notary service for basic acknowledgments and affirmation signatures in accordance with the Illinois Notary Public Act. Call 847.245.5115 to confirm the availability of the notary before your visit.

- Each signer must provide a current, valid identification card issued by a state or federal agency that includes a photo and a signature. Digital IDs are not accepted.
- If the document requires witnesses, those seeking notary service must provide their own witnesses. Witnesses must provide a current, valid identification card issued by a state or federal agency that includes a photo and a signature. Digital IDs are not accepted.
- Notaries cannot give legal advice or instruction on how to complete forms.
- Library notary service is limited; there are some documents we are unable to notarize.
