Lake County Art League’s “Art Tells A Story” on Display at Lake Villa District Library

Lindenhurst, IL — The Lake Villa District Library’s May/June Featured Artist Exhibit, “Art Tells A Story,” showcases the Lake County Art League Spring Membership Show. Featuring works by both novice and professional artists across a variety of mediums, the exhibit will be on display through June.

Lake Villa District Library’s “Great Lawn” Is Ready for Visitors

At long last, Phase II of Lake Villa District Library's Outdoor Space Plan is complete. While the official grand opening will be held on Sunday, June 7, visitors are welcome to explore the space now. Enter at the Book Arbor and follow the path.

“Phase II of the plan includes multiple projects,” said Library Director Mick Jacobsen. “The Great Lawn, an outdoor reading room, three shaded patios, a performance pavilion, a walking path, a Monarch Butterfly Wayfinding Station, and a whimsical berm designed as a Hobbit-inspired house.”

Seeking Joy in My Journey: The Artwork of Clarese Ornstein on Display at Lake Villa District Library

Lindenhurst, IL — Lake Villa District Library proudly announces ‘Seeking Joy in My Journey: The Artwork of Clarese Ornstein’ as the March - April Featured Artist. The exhibit features art Ornstein created in Illinois, Wisconsin and Ireland. 

“I have been on a joyful journey,” said Ornstein. “Learning from other artists, mentors while experimenting with many media and always being inspired by nature’s beauty.”

Lake Villa District Library’s Annual After-Hours Event Set for Friday, February 20

Grapes & Growlers: A Night at the Library 2026, sponsored by the Lake Villa District Library Foundation, will take place Friday, February 20, from 7–9 p.m. Guests must be 21+ to attend. Admission is a $20 cover charge.

The evening’s entertainment features two-time Grammy-nominated (and Lindenhurst resident)  John Primer and The Real Deal Blues Band, performing two sets of soul-stirring blues music.
