LINDENHURST, Ill. — Camp Read-a-Lot, Lake Villa District Library's 2026 Summer Reading Program, is open to readers of all ages. The challenge is simple: set aside time each day to read for chances to win great prizes.

Already, more than 3,000 people have registered to participate, putting Camp Read-a-Lot on pace to become LVDL's most successful summer reading program yet.

Lindenhurst, IL — The Lake Villa District Library’s May/June Featured Artist Exhibit, “Art Tells A Story,” showcases the Lake County Art League Spring Membership Show. Featuring works by both novice and professional artists across a variety of mediums, the exhibit will be on display through June.

In addition, the LCAL will host a critique session at the library on Wednesday, May 13, at 6pm. Professional artists will offer feedback to those participating in the show. For more information, call 847.245.5115 or visit www.lvdl.org

At long last, Phase II of Lake Villa District Library's Outdoor Space Plan is complete. While the official grand opening will be held on Sunday, June 7, visitors are welcome to explore the space now. Enter at the Book Arbor and follow the path.

“Phase II of the plan includes multiple projects,” said Library Director Mick Jacobsen. “The Great Lawn, an outdoor reading room, three shaded patios, a performance pavilion, a walking path, a Monarch Butterfly Wayfinding Station, and a whimsical berm designed as a Hobbit-inspired house.”
