Libraries Host Virtual Event With Former Illinois Representative Adam Kinzinger

Lake Villa District Library is joining more than 20 libraries across the state of Illinois to host a special virtual event with former Illinois Representative Adam Kinzinger to discuss his bestselling memoir Renegade: Defending Democracy And Liberty In Our Divided Country. The book captures one of the most transformative periods in recent history in a personal account from inside Congress. An Evening with Adam Kinzinger will take place via Zoom on Thursday, February 29, at 7 p.m.

Library’s Wine And Craft Beer Event Set For February

Grapes & Growlers: A Night at the Library 2024, sponsored by the Lake Villa District Library Foundation, is set for Friday, February 9, 7-9pm. There is a $10 cover charge and you must be 21+ to attend.

Antioch Fine Wine and Liquors will be pouring free samples of wine and local breweries---Harbor Brewing Co. and 9th Hour Brewing --- will be on hand with a variety of craft beers. Full glasses of select wine and beer will be available for a $5 per glass donation.

Field Museum’s Dinosaur Replica On Display at Lake Villa District Library

His name is Norm and he’s on display at Lake Villa District Library through November 28. Visitors can stop by anytime, during regular library hours, to see what he’s all about.

On loan from the Field Museum’s Harris Learning Connection, Norm is a full-size fiberglass reproduction of a T-rex’s skull and the main attraction for the library’s  Dinovember initiative—a month-long celebration of all-things dinosaur.
