“Inspirations in Watercolor” on exhibit at Lake Villa District Library

Lake Villa District Library proudly announces Maureen Holcomb and Carol Fink Sackschewsky’s “Inspirations in Watercolor” as the March/April Featured Artist Exhibit.  Representing the Antioch Fine Arts Foundation, the exhibit features landscape, watercolor, still life and figurative watercolor works.   

Holcomb and Sackschewsky will do a watercolor demonstration on Thursday, March 20 from 6-7pm at the library, located at 140 N. Munn Road, Lindenhurst. For more information call 847-245-5115.

Invitation to Bid on Phase II of Library’s Outdoor Space Project Underway

Bid Packets for the second phase of Lake Villa District Library’s outdoor space plan will be available after Monday, February 24, 2025.

Interested parties can contact library director Mick Jacobsen at 847.245.5100 or mjacobsen@lvdl.org . “We’re looking for the lowest responsible bid and hope to award the project in April,” said Jacobsen.

Lake Villa District Library to Host Blues Music, Wine, and Craft Beer Event

Grapes & Growlers: A Night at the Library 2025, sponsored by the Lake Villa District Library Foundation, will take place on Friday, February 21, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Guests must be 21+ to attend, and there is a $20 cover charge.

Attendees will receive a commemorative wine or beer glass and a free drink ticket, while supplies last. The evening will feature John Primer & the Real Deal Blues Band, performing two sets of soul-stirring blues music.

Caldecott-Winning Author/Illustrator Matthew Cordell to Launch New Book at Lake Villa District Library

Award-winning author and illustrator Matthew Cordell will unveil his latest picture book, To See an Owl, at Lake Villa District Library on Sunday, January 12, at 2 p.m.

The event will feature a reading by Cordell, along with stories about his birding adventures. Attendees will have the chance to receive a limited-edition signed print (available while supplies last). Copies of To See an Owl will also be available for purchase and signing, courtesy of The Book Stall.
